If you ever get a chance to use a pendulum squat, do it. I literally drive 20 minutes out of my way to use this machine once a week because I think it’s so effective for building your quads.
Why? Because typically your quads are weakest when the muscle is shortened and strongest when the muscle is lengthened. This machine has a counterbalance that makes the pendulum squat mechanically the most challenging at the lengthened portion of the squat. Therefore this is the only squat variation without using bands that you can overload the lengthened portion of the squat.
