Client spotlight: Dylan @itsdylanralston is a coaching client on @getverb. He had an amazing transformation and got absolutely shredded while working with me. I only had the pleasure of meeting Dylan in person once in Denver but he has been fantastic to work with. People frequently sign up for coaching when they have an opportunity to hear me speak, which I’m doing more and more of. Here’s what he had to say:

“I came to Jacob because I wanted to take out the guesswork when it came to the combination of nutrition, bodybuilding and endurance training. I wanted to improve my physique by gaining muscle and reducing body fat while also becoming a faster runner who could run for longer.

Some of the biggest things that Jacob helped me change were:
• More consistency in the gym with weight lifting
• An amazing lifting plan
• A reliable framework for nutrition (protein floor, fiber floor, calorie ceiling)
• Accountability with daily checkins

Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Nutrition to me is about never eating the cookie 🍪 on the counter or going down stairs in the middle of the night to house a box of pizza 🍕 in the dark.

80% of my diet is vegetables, fruit, lean protein 🍗 🍎 🥦 and the other 20% I enjoy with the people I love.

On a day like Memorial Day I will hit the gym first thing 🏋🏻‍♀️ and just with a light, healthy breakfast 🍳 and if possible continue with a healthy, modest lunch 🥗

I try to save my calories for the evening with people I truly enjoy having in my life. 🥩 🥃

Stop thinking of nutrition in extremes. Everything in moderation.

Lat Prayer

If you’re really looking to isolate your lats, which most people struggle with while training back, try these lat prayers 🙏 3 things to think about while setting this up:

1️⃣ You want a very long rope or two ropes in order to get full range of motion

2️⃣ You want to allow your arms to get fully behind your head in order to really stretch the lat

3️⃣ Keep your arms perfectly straight to get full range of motion all the way until your palms reach your hips

Either start your back training with this to pre-exhaust your lats or put it at the end to really polish them off 💅 Either way you can’t go wrong.

1️⃣ @questnutrition Protein Chips: When this product came out it blew everybody’s minds. Nobody had ever thought about a protein supplement being anything other than a bar or shake.

2️⃣ @atkinsnutritionals Protein Chips: Atkins actually owns Quest now so it makes sense that they have some of the best chips in the game.

3️⃣ @popcorners Flex: These lack in the protein department but they are a unique tasting protein chip.

4️⃣ @officialpureprotein Puffs: These are a puff instead of a chip, it’s a nice alternative.

5️⃣ @wildechips Protein Chips: These have 10g protein but unfortunately they’re all above 150 calories and often closer to 200.
