GET. YOUR. LABS. DONE.

Get. Your. Labs. Done.

This new year, you should make a goal to stay on top of your health. Make an appointment with your doctor and ask to get your labs done. If you don’t get bloodwork done, you don’t know what’s going on with your health.

This is a generic list I give to clients, context always matters. Most of my clients are looking for very in-depth labs. Insurance may not cover every single one of these panels – and, quite frankly, every single one of these panels might not be for you. I don’t know your particular circumstances. However, the core principle of this post is: go get your labs done. If all of these panels aren’t right for you, that’s okay. Simply, start with your basic panels. Something is always better than nothing.

Here is a list of the labs I suggest most of my clients get:

🔘 CBC with diff – Detects anemia, infection, and inflammation
🔘 CMP – Assesses liver/kidney function, electrolytes, and glucose
🔘 Hemoglobin A1C – Monitors long-term blood sugar control for diabetes risk
🔘 Lipid profile – Evaluates cholesterol and heart disease risk
🔘 Lp(A) and ApoB – Advanced markers for cardiovascular risk
🔘 C-Reactive Protein – Measures inflammation, linked to heart disease
🔘 Thyroid profile – Checks thyroid function for metabolism and energy
🔘 IGF-1 – Assesses growth hormone levels and aging
🔘 Total and free testosterone – Evaluates hormone balance and vitality
🔘 FSH and LH – Analyzes reproductive health and hormone regulation
🔘 Estradiol – Measures estrogen for reproductive and bone health
🔘 DHEA-S – Reflects adrenal health and precursor hormones
🔘 SHBG – Regulates availability of sex hormones
🔘 Vitamin D 25 OH – Supports bone, immune, and overall health
🔘 B12 and folate – Assesses nerve health, energy, and red blood cells
🔘 Homocysteine – Evaluates heart health and risk of stroke
🔘 PSA (Men Only) – Screens for prostate health and cancer risk
