Agave is a great example of a garbage 🗑️ product that in no way is healthy but has been marketed well.
1️⃣ It’s highly processed.
2️⃣ Still contains sugar. Many people aiming to cut down on sugar are seeking alternatives for their diets. Agave isn’t it — it has 16g of sugar per serving.
3️⃣ It has no nutritional value. The micronutrients on this thing are abysmal. For 60 calories you are getting nothing but that — empty calories.
I prefer Stevia, a plant-based sweetener. Every day people are likely confused about artificial sweeteners because they are busy with careers and dependent on news/ social media to learn about health and wellness. You would have to have an absurd amount of aspartame for the dosage to be cancerous. The study involving erythritol literally used patients with prior heart disease as subjects. Not exactly reflective of general population.
For those concerned about artificial sweeteners, I recommend raw honey as a natural option. Both raw honey and agave have 60 calories and 16g sugar per tablespoon, but agave is highly processed whereas honey is filtered for debris, but that is the only processing that it undergoes.
